Choose your hosting plan at Hostinger to install WordPress
Installing WordPress is an essential step in building your website. In this highly accessible guide, we will walk through how to install WordPress using Hostinger, a powerful and modern web host, with an ultra-responsive technical support team and of course a 100% WordPress-oriented environment.
Before starting your WordPress installation, you need to choose a hosting plan suited to your needs. Hostinger offers various options, ranging from shared hosting plans to dedicated servers. Select the one that best suits your website.
List of Hostinger Hosting Plans
- Shared Hosting : The "Single" plan is ideal and affordable for beginners looking to get started with WordPress and their host, or for small personal websites. It offers limited disk space, sufficient bandwidth for moderate traffic, and a user-friendly control panel. It is an accessible option for blogs, portfolios, and small to medium-sized websites.
- Cloud hosting : Suitable for medium-sized websites with better scalability than shared hosting. It offers dedicated server resources, making it well-suited for small businesses, e-commerce sites, and popular blogs.
- Shared WordPress Hosting : Perfect for WordPress users, it offers optimized performance for this CMS. Ideal for blogs, news sites, and personal sites built on WordPress.
- WordPress Cloud Hosting : Suitable for growing WordPress sites. It offers improved performance through cloud hosting, making it appropriate for popular blogs, affiliate sites, and small online stores.
- VPS servers : VPS 1, VPS 2, VPS 3, VPS 4 : Virtual Private Servers (VPS) are suited to rapidly growing websites that require more resources and control. They are appropriate for online businesses, web applications, and e-commerce sites with substantial traffic.

Hostinger hosting plans are designed to accommodate a variety of needs and budgets. It is essential to choose the plan that best matches your site’s size, traffic, and performance objectives. Hostinger also offers excellent technical support and a user-friendly interface to simplify hosting management.
Register a Domain Name
Now is the time to register your domain name(s). Hostinger offers free domain names with certain hosting plans. Choose a domain name that represents your business or project.
Example:
- if you are a equipment rental company and your business is called ILIADE, then www.iliadelocation.fr is ~€10,000/year
- If you are a pizza maker at a harbor, your domain name could be pizzaduport.fr / pizzaporttoulon.fr etc.
- Or if you prefer to develop your brand, choose yourbrand.com or .fr or .org
(keep in mind that a domain name should be easy to remember, and the shorter it is, the better it works)
Let's get started… go to the "Domain name“ a new page will open where you will find two tabs:
"Register a new domain" or "transfer a domain", along with domain name suggestions that may interest you and a list of domain names you already own.
What we're interested in here is choosing a domain name for your future website. So click on “Get a new domain”
You are now on the search page for your new domain name. You can either type a domain name you find relevant, or have one suggested by AI by describing your business and the important keywords you want to rank for.
We will keep it simple and use the "Finding a new domain name" in both cases you will be able to select the suggested domain name(s).
In our example we will type Extreme seasonality
Click “search” and you will see the price of each extension for your domain name, as well as the list of available extensions such as .fr .com .org .biz etc., an AI-suggested list, and a list matching your search.
If you are not satisfied with the available extensions or if the chosen name is simply not available, you can enter other alternatives for your domain name, such as: votre-nom-de-domaine.fr or votrenom-de-domaine.fr, in order to have a chance of securing a domain name containing the keywords you want to target.
Once you have found your ideal domain name, you can click on Local Var specialization to add it to your cart. Depending on the hosting plan chosen, you will need to proceed with payment, or your domain name will be included in your plan. (only the Single plan does not include a free domain name for the first year)
Now that your domain name belongs to you, Hostinger will install the SSL security certificates for you free of charge — and that's it. We can now get down to business!!!

How do you install WordPress?
Access the Hostinger Control Panel to install WordPress
Once you have chosen a hosting plan and registered your domain name, log in to your Hostinger account and access the control panel located on the left side of your administration panel.
- Open the folder at the bottom left — “Site Web”
- Click on “Automatic Installer”
- Choose and click on the CMS you want to install — you obviously have a wide range of CMS options available, but in our case it will be WordPress.
- Choosing to install WordPress "alone" or "WooCommerce" will allow you to install the powerful e-commerce plugin with WordPress — this will not change any of the steps that follow.
Configure the Installation Settings
When installing WordPress, you will need to configure certain settings such as your site name, admin username, and password. Make sure to choose a secure username and password to protect your site, and save them somewhere safe so you do not forget them. (DO NOT WORRY, you will be able to modify these elements later)
If you click on "Advanced" you will see that you can install your site in a subdirectory of your main domain and choose an existing database; in our case, those options are not relevant.
In the following table, select carefully WordPress in FRENCH
Then click Install for the installation to begin. Within seconds your WordPress site is live.
Customization of your WordPress site
Choose a Theme
Once you have installed WordPress, it is time to choose a theme for your site.
Hostinger offers a wide selection of free and premium themes. But for the theme we will choose, go to your site's administration panel, which should be located at this default address: www.yourdomain(.fr or .com or other)/wp-admin — as you can see, simply add /wp-admin after your domain name to access your administration login page. We will cover this in another article. how to modify and secure wp-admin.
Enter the username and password you set during your WordPress CMS installation and you're in — you're logged in. You can click "Remember me" to stay logged in during your next sessions.
- Once logged in, look a little further down in your left-hand side menu for the tab "appearance”
- Then click "themes“
- then click the "Add" button located at the top left of your main page
- a new page opens in which a search engine appears.
- enter "hello" — our favorite theme, as we are great enthusiasts of the Elementor page builder, which we will explore in more detail later.
- click Install and then 'Activate' once it is ready.
otherwise you can always download the hello theme here, afterwards you will need to create and install the child theme for Hello (procedure described later). An easy operation thanks to child theme generators
There you go — you have just installed your first WordPress theme Congratulations!!!
Add Plugins
We have installed WordPress which is the CMS, i.e., the core of your website, then the theme which will hold the structure, we are now going to install the page builder, some plugins are extensions designed to add extra features to your WordPress site.
To install plugins, simply go to your left-hand sidebar menu in your administration panel, Click the Plugins > Add New tab
On the following page you will find the list of Featured / Popular / Recommended plugins etc., as well as a search bar in which you can type the plugins from the following list, selected by WpZone.
But be careful — you should absolutely not install them indiscriminately this could have more negative than positive effects — it is important to understand that a plugin is necessarily very useful but can also slow down your site, and not all plugins are compatible with each other or with WordPress due to version differences.
That is why I present below a list of all the essential plugins needed to run a functional yet lightweight site, with which you can build almost all the features required by a professional website.

Some plugins may not yet have been updated to be fully compatible with the new version of WordPress.

Go to your WordPress administration panel, open the tab "Dashboard" in your left sidebar menu and click "Updates”. A new page opens with all available updates.
